A gross misconduct hearing for former Cambridgeshire Police Constable Neil Woodley, previously based at Huntingdon, was held on 1 September 2026. The IOPC published the completed outcome on 4 September 2026.
The panel found the allegations proven at gross misconduct. The published sanction is that he would have been dismissed without notice had he still been serving. That is not recorded as a serving dismissal. The barred list is to be updated.
The IOPC said he formed an inappropriate relationship with a teenage girl who was in a vulnerable position and failed to take appropriate safeguarding action.
The same IOPC notice also records a separate earlier criminal matter: on 4 April 2025 he pleaded guilty at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court and was fined £957, then faced an accelerated misconduct hearing in July 2025 at which he was dismissed with immediate effect for discreditable conduct arising from that conviction. The September 2026 hearing is the later IOPC-linked gross misconduct outcome on the relationship and safeguarding findings.
No appeal is stated in the 4 September 2026 notice.
